Op bovenstaande coördinaten is niets
te vinden.
Uw opdracht bestaat erin de zwarte doos terug te vinden van het
vliegtuig met kenteken OO-CACH.
Wat voorafging :
OO-CACH vloog op zeer lage hoogte
(boomtopniveau) boven de velden en bossen van Brabant toen het
bedreigd werd door een luchtdoelraket.
Via een automatische waarschuwing
was de piloot op de hoogte en kon zich redden met zijn
schietstoel.
Omdat het vliegtuig op automatische
piloot vloog, is het nog onbemand op eigen kracht een stuk verder
gevolgen totdat het geraakt werd door de luchtdoelraket.
De laatst bekende gegevens zijn
afkomstig van een AWACS-radarvliegtuig dat het volgende noteerde
:
Positie van OO-CACH : N 50° 47.625 E 4° 39.996 ; koers 15 graden
(t.o.v. ware Noorden); snelheid 720 km/uur.
Positie van de SAM-luchtdoelraket op datzelfde ogenblik : N 50°
47.308 E 4° 41.858 ; koers 285° ; snelheid 900 km/uur.
Men mag aannemen dat dit type
luchtdoelraket ook op elk volgend ogenblik totdat het zijn doel
bereikt heeft in de richting van het vliegtuig OO-CACH gevlogen is
en dezelfde snelheid heeft aangehouden.
OO-CACH heeft steeds dezelfde koers en snelheid blijven aanhouden
vermits de automatische piloot in werking was.
Maak het vinden van deze cache ook
niet moeilijker dan het is.
Je mag aannemen dat de aarde vlak is (tenminste toch over de
afstanden waarvan hier sprake is), je mag de Corioliskracht
verwaarlozen en je mag aannemen dat de blackbox vertikaal naar
beneden gevallen is (het vliegtuig vloog op zéér lage
hoogte).
De stash is een ammoboxje dat
verzonken ligt in een natuurlijke put en bedekt is met takjes en
bladeren.
In de omgeving van de cache zijn nog
andere kenmerken waarnaar je kan zoeken (een kompas kan nuttig
zijn; opgelet afstanden en richting zijn benaderend !):
a) Boompje met gele verf aan voet : loop ca. 6 meter Oost naar de
cache.
b) Boom met rode tape onderaan : loop ca. 25 meter Zuid-West naar
de cache, vlakbij is ook een oranje touw rond een tak
gewikkeld.
c) Blauw stompje : van daar is het ca. 20 meter lopen 60° naar de
cache.
d) Naamloos aluminiumplaatje op afgezaagde boomstronk (ca. 50cm
doormeter), van daar is het ca. 65 m 200°.
e) groen touw rond voet boom, van daar ca. 55 m. 150°

Your task : You have to find the black box of plane
OO-CACH
What happened?
OO-CACH was flying at very low altitude when an airdefense missile
was pursuing the plane.
The pilot was automatically warned and could eject himself in
time.
The plane itself continued its course for some time, as it was
still guided by its automatic pilot, before being hit by the
missile.
Last available data from an AWACS radarplane all at the same time
were :
OO-CACH was then at N 50° 47.625 E 4° 39.996 ; heading 15°
(relative to true North) ; speed 720 km/hour.
SAM-missile at the same time was spotted at N 50° 47.308 E 4°
41.858 ; heading 285° ; speed 900 km/hour.
One may assume that
the missile was heading towards the plane at any time during its
trajectory and kept the same speed of 900 km/hour.
Also, since the plane OO-CACH was still flying with its automatic
pilot on, you may assume that it continued with the same speed and
heading until it was hit.
Don't make this task
more complicated.
Assume that the earth is flat (good enough for this case), neglect
the Coriolis-force and other complicated things and assume that the
plane with its black box fell vertically (pretty good assumption
since it was flying at tree top level).
The stash is an
ammobox hidden in a natural pit and covered with leaves and
branches.
There are some marks near the stash (a compass may be useful ;
distances and bearing to the stash are only approximate). All but
one mark are near the ground.
a) Tree with yellow paint at its foot : from there walk some 6
metres East to the stash.
b) Tree with red tape at its foot; nearby is also an orange rope
around a branch of another tree : Walk about 25 m. South-West to
the pit.
c) Blue stump : go some 20 m. 60°.
d) anonymous aluminium strip on a sawed stump (abt. 50 cm.
diameter) : from there roughly 65 m 200°.
e) green rope winded around foot of tree, from there 55 m. 150° to
stash
