At 1827 feet, Las Trampas Peak is the 1st of Three Peaks.
When we started looking at the trail map for the Las Trampas Wilderness, these Three Peaks just seemed to jump out and say cache me !! There are multiple access points to this area but we used the trailhead at the end of Bollinger Canyon Road. Take the Bollinger Trail to the peak (If you are really into a challenge ((or pain)) run these caches in reverse and take the Chamise Trail to the ridge line). On a personal note, it was a unique experience to stand at a point where everything in every direction is down. Also, at the top is an incredible ancient oak just made for a picnic, the view is awesome !!The original contents of the cache are:1 Notebook and Pen1 Chabot Observatory Pencil1 Stocking Bear1 Green Girls Comb Set1 Superman1 American Flag Pin1 Seashell1 Pooh1 Rooh Clip-on1 Rubber Duckie1 Dougs Pattie1 Tabasco Red Mini1 New York Quarter1 Flag Pin1 CITO BagPHOTOS: For those of you who are thinking about a digital camera, the photos in this series were taken with my first digital camera. I went to Frys and bought the cheapest camera they had, $79, BTC Brand, 2.1 Megapixel. The only purpose for this camera would be for geocaching. Now I'm an old 35mm guy, and to me that will always be REAL photography. And I can point a whole lot of fingers at this camera, this is wrong, that's wrong, etc. But the bottom line is, does it get the job done? I think so. So before you spend $300 on a digital camera, think about what a "cheap" digital camera can do.
