Part of our "even small parks deserve a cache" series. McCormick Park is a bit more rustic and unique in its shape and purpose as an access point for a scenic portion of the Yellow Breeches Creek. Only fishing, wading and boating access in this mini-park.
The original Native American inhabitants of this area called the Yellow Breeches Creek "Callapatscink" which meant "where the waters turn back again" and refers to the winding path the creek follows on the way to the Susquehanna River. Fed by a combination of limestone springs and freestone tributaries, the Yellow Breeches is recognized as one of the most popular trout streams in Pennsylvania. Learn much more about the Yellow Breeches here: (visit link) Please carefully replace the cache in its special hiding spot just as you found it. Adequate parking is available adjacent to the cache location. May be a little challenging to find but not too many hiding spots.
Did this in cold weather so... pls. do check to make sure there are no bees making honey or other critters here in warmer weather :)
