Geocache Description:

3 Stage Multi Cache. Micro - Medium/small - Ammo Box. Some rough terrain - survey first! WARNING!!! This cache is in a public hunting ground, so be careful during hunting season(s)."

"Cache Of The Day" is a multi-cache.

1st stage is a largish pill bottle. In it is a tiny tube/bottle. Inside the bottle is a tag with the coordinates for the second stage. There is a log sheet with the coordinates on it also.
Update 02/17/2019: We replaced the first stage here, it is now a SMALL.

The 2nd stage are a couple of smallish bottles covered with camo tape. The original container has been moved because of a controlled burn, so please visit stage one again if you have old coordinates; the new spot is very close to the old, but those were off by 50-75 feet (Sorry!). Just enter coordinated into GPS and leave tags in containers.
Update 2/25/08: Thanks to 3Hawks for replacing the second stage with a 6-inch camo-taped pill bottle.
Update 10/13/11: We went out and replaced the second stage container with a pair of containers.

The final stage is a new ammo box, with decent fishing and regular swag. I wanted to make a cache that is a little different, so I chose a theme - fishing. All the items we placed in this cache are fishing or fishing related items. I ask that you only trade fishing or fishing related items, and please pay attention to value, some lures are quite expensive. This cache uses the same parking lot as 2 other caches, so check the listings before going there.

A partial list of the ORIGINAL items included follows:
1 Original Floating Rapala, about 15 - 20 years old.
1 Berkley Power Rattle, a hard / soft combo bait that has been out of production for 5 years or more.
A few jig/spinner combos.
Some classic red and white bobbers.
A Thill float, a 40" stick-on ruler from the WI DNR.
Several publications and pamphlets on fishing and boating from the WI DNR.
Several trading cards about wildlife alien invaders from the WI DNR.
A tube of Berkley Power Gel.
A couple packs of Berkley Power Bait Tails and a sample pack of Berkley Power Worms.
"Wishing For Fishing" Travel Bug.
Some selections of weighted hooks for soft plastics.
A Berkley Power Crank crank bait.
A wind-up kids fishing game.
Other misc. lures, hooks, etc.
The loss of the original cache has brought a new container and a set of new fishing items.

Survey the terrain. The shortest route is usually NOT the best with this one. There are some very steep hills and lots of thorns if you go the wrong way. Many leftover items of past human habitation are scattered around this area. BE CAREFUL! There are old foundations, fences and sharp metal objects, so watch the kids! All stages are near trails, but most are just game trails and may not be real visible at all times of the year.

Please be prepared with fishing items or fishing type toys to trade. Keep all soft plastics separate and PLEASE protect all hooks in some manner. If you would like some of your fishing pictures posted the cache page, please put them in a plastic bag in the final stage. If you do not want to mention the lake, at least tell us the county. I hope you find something in Cache Of The Day that will make it possible for you to go out and get your own catch of the day. Please be careful with small children, many of the items in this cache have VERY SHARP HOOKS and can be dangerous.
Update 01/31/2012: We replaced the container with a medium-sized Loc-N-Loc.
Update 02/17/2019: We replaced the final stage here, it is now a new ammo box.

One other warning: the terrain leading to and around the first two stages can be VERY challenging, especially if you take the wrong route. If you have small children with, you might want to have someone stay with them on the gravel road for the first 2 stages. The final stage is more accessible.
