Geocache Description:

One of San Diego's many hidden canyons. Although a much steeper more direct approach is possible, I recommend taking the half mile hike down from Pioneer Park, perhaps after visiting the "G/I #1 Not quite six feet under" cache. This way the elevation change is gradual except as you enter/exit the trail at the street. Trail head is at 32°45.004N 117°10.683W

Cache is a 7"x11" zip loc container. Originally called Five Dollar Canyon with the idea of keeping the contents inside to be worth around 5 dollars each. Failed miserably. I guess 5 bucks a pop was overly ambitious. Scratch that idea. Ah well. The usual trash trade seems to keep most people happy :-)

Near the cache there does appear to be some sort of 'camp' in the bushes but this one looks more like a place teenagers would go to smoke than a place somebody is sleeping. However, San Diego canyons are popular places to live so always be cautious, especially at night.
