Geocache Description:

CAMPING EVENT!!! Please RSVP on this cache page (by placing a note) so that we can prepare accordingly...

Our club hosted events are not for "members only." All geocachers are encouraged to attend. The more the merrier!

This is the first camping event to be hosted by the club. We will start gathering at the camping area around 4PM. Your first priority is to claim your campsite and set up your tent or RV. Events will include a compass orienting class, and maybe a short cache run. As it starts to get dark, many of us will hang out around the fire and roast marshmallows and make SMORES. We will also try to get a game of GEO-BINGO going. The campground has an open-air theater and services Sunday morning at 9:00AM, so those who are inclined can attend in lieu of their normal church services without having to rush back to their hometowns.
We cannot reserve campsites in advance, so we will not know the final coordinates of this event cache until that day.
Rather that trying to change the coordinates on the cache page at the last minute, a micro cache GCJ8T7 has been placed that we will put the coordinates inside when we find a group of campsites close together. If you have any trouble, look for a bunch of vehicles with the "GEO" or "GPS" or "geocacher" stickers on their bumpers! The listed coordinates for this cache page are to the bathrooms in the camping area. We will also post the final coordinates on the bulletin board at this set of bathrooms.

The folks that do the Booms Day Fireworks display will be doing a training show at Cove Lake this same evening.

It is $15.50 for one campsite, which holds three tents. There is a usage fee of 50 cents per person over the age of 7. The park does have a swimming pool (not sure if the construction will be complete by the event or not), volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and don't forget about the lake full of fish. Walmart is nearby if you forget anything. We will provide the makings for smores, but you will need to bring anything else you care to eat or drink.
