Geocache Description:

This will be a great time for all.

Come Friday the 7th for and evening of fun, caching and merriment. Rain or shine. The real event will be Saturday the 8th and start around 1100. We will stay until Sunday. You don't have to go all three days, but Saturday is the day to earn a smiley. More details to be added here as they become available or necassary. There will be boating, swimming and BBQ for all. And best of all, we will hit the local caches nearby. Several new caches will be placed in the area prior to the event. Furthermore, feel free to place as many caches (temporary or permanent) near or in the park as you care. Let me know if there are any event activites that you have heard of or seen in the past and we will try to incorporate them into our day. And at MCP's request we will have a Captain Picard look-alike contest.
Emma Long Park is on the shores of beautiful Lake Austin and is also known for its mountain biking trails. Please bring your boats, jet skis, waterskis, floaties, mountain bikes, hiking shoes, swimming suits, binoculars, games for rainy weather, WHATEVER! Cheers!

These should be pretty close. These are prices from earlier this year. There might be a slight difference in the actual price, but not much. Camping and day use info and fees:$10 per day per car for day use $6 per site for camping w/o utilities$15 per site for camping with utilitiesYou pay camping fee IN ADDITION TO DAY USE FEE (you have to pay both when camping.).If you want to camp and would like to stay at the lower park Friday or Sat. night (May 7 th or 8th), email Dan (TxBigfoot) so we can start getting an idea of how many campsites are needed. Each campsite can hold up to 8 people. Also if you might be able to help Friday afternoon with setup, please email me. Austin locals or for those who plan to daytrip it, they charge a day use fee of $10 per car on the weekends; you may wish to buddy up with your geo-friends and carpool in to the paid day use area. I leave that up to you to arrange! 4/21/04: Latest update for the event. Tentative Schedule: Friday: Meat and Meet. this will be a BYOM (bring your own meat) grillside chat starting at 8pm. This will give everyone time to get settled and for me to come over form work. We might even do a nite cache or 2. Saturday: The Event: Potluck starts at 1100. We will go to the Pier that night for a little fun and live music. Always a great spot. We will have a shuttle service for this. Food and drink is available at the Pier if you care to eat there. Sunday: MCP has offered to cook up a breakfast feast. Just show up at her tent around 9am. She has gratiously offered to provide all the fixin's, so just be there or be hungry. Several people have asked about kids. Since kids are an integral part of our lives as single people, they are assuradely welcome. We will also have caching expeditions throughout the day. We will have a water and a land route. We will plan to have set times that these will leave, so everyone can decide when and what they would like to do. Pets are allowed as far as I know, so bring a leash. Also, start looking at Austin Time Realease and Five dogs on Top, so you can get all the clues you need to solve these caches. Please start posting your potluck additions here and whether or not you will be camping and which nights you will need the camp site so we can start getting a list. I will reserve campsites on Friday. Of course you can always camp on your own if you like.
