Geocache Description:

Micro in a fantastic Veterans Memorial Park. Enjoy this park and historic site right in the middle of things.

This is the first traditional cache in a city of 80,000 residents...kinda hard to believe! This park contains a selection of military hardware from several branches of service. I am a Desert Storm vet and truly appreciate this location. Be sure to view and read all of the monuments in this park. They cover action all the way back to the Revolutionary War in chronological order.

The cache is a film canister. You can park very close. Be careful if crossing traffic...especially with kids...people tend to drive too fast in this parking lot. Coordinates should be very accurate. Waypoint was averaged for a long period.

EDIT (6-7-04): Replaced the original film canister today with a military container of similar size. The old container had a problem and I thought the military container would be more appropriate in this veterans park. The original log was damp so I replaced that as well. I will dry out the original log and add it back in the container.
