The starting location is part of the Cook County Forest Preserve
District so access may not be possible after sunset. Access to the
course is only needed to obtain information from this location.
Following the first stroke, the course itself is not "in play". All
remaining stages are located outside the perimeter of the course
and are accessible only from outside of the golf course.
Each "stroke" of this cache will require you to do what is called a
waypoint projection. For best accuracy in determining the landing
location for each stroke, this calculation should be done using
distance in feet. If your GPSr is not capable of this type of
projection calculation, the use of a "swing coach" such as
FizzyMagic's FizzyCalc program is strongly
recommended.
Stroke 1:
Tee up at the posted coordinates. Each "stroke" will begin here.
At this location you will find a plaque. Use the information on the
plaque to identify the location you must visit on the "fairway".
Information from a marker placed at this location will give you the
distance to the final cache. All bearing information is referenced
to True North. You may wish to use your golf cart to take you to
parking closer to the locations for stroke 2 and the final.
Stroke 2:
Point your club at AB3 degrees and hit the ball 10C5 ft
where:
A = # of letters in line 2 word 1
B = # of letters in line 2 word 2
C = # of letters in line 4 word 1
Stroke 3:
Tee the ball back up at the start and this time point your club
at 170.31 degrees and smack that ball the distance shown on the
marker at stroke 2.
Putt Out:
The final cache is a camo coated tubular container.
NOTE:
The 'stroke' locations, while near the course,
are not actually on the course. No travel on the course proper will
be needed to find any part of this cache. Straight-line travel to
these spots would not be welcome by patrons or managers of the golf
course, and in fact will put you on the wrong side of fences,
etc.
Please replace your divots and repair your ball marks. Have
fun!
