Klotgranit är en bergart som stelnat på stort djup
och som sedan kommit upp till ytan vid veckningar i jordskorpan. I
Slättemossa finns två synliga berg som består av
granitbollar överdragna med ett eller flera skikt av
kalknatron och hornblände. Utrymmet mellan bollarna är
fyllt med granitmassa. När inlandsisen slipade bergen blev ett
tvärsnitt av bollarna synligt. Det ser ut som om tusentals
ögon stirrar mot besökarna. Inslaget av kalknatron
gör att geologerna också kallar bergarten
ögondiorit. Slättemossa är den enda platsen i
Sverige där man kan se denna unika bergart.
Du kan se klotgraniten på position N57 22,925 E15 36,103
men också på berget vid cachen.
Gömman består av en rund 0,4 l plastburk som
innehåller loggbok, penna och lite bytesvaror.
Globular Granite is a rock which solidified at a great depth and
which later reached the surface at creases in the earth crust. In
Slättemossa there are two visible rocks which consist of
globular granite covered with one or more layers of limestone
sodium hydroxide and hornblende. The space between the globes is
filled with granite. When the inland ice grinded the rock a cross
section of the globes became visible. It looks like thousands of
eyes staring at the visitors. Slättemossa is the only location
in Sweden where it is possible to see this unique rock.
You can find the globular granite at the position N57 22,925 E15
36,103 but also at the rock close to the cache.
The cache is a round 0,4 l plastic container with a logbook,
pencil and some trading items.
