San Pasqual area, big hike up a well-travelled path, then the path disappears and you have to follow markers (tape on bushes). Wear long pants, as always, watch out for rattlesnakes. Take LOTS of water.
[[ updated July 2010: cache has been re-newed, see log entry ]]
Brief history. I planted the first cache on this trail (San Pasquak Overlook), at the point my kids said they couldn't go any further. Tuna then planted one at the top of the hill (Tuna's Moonscape). This time I went back solo, and hiked along the ridge, for quite a ways just doing bushwhacking, to plant this one. Tuna: ball's back in your court now :)Take LOTS of water on this one. The elevation change is non-trivial, and it can get VERY hot. Be prepared. Watch for snakes, I had a large rattlesnake fall out of a bush onto the path about 3 feet in front of me (oh yeah, it got my heart going!!). This was on the way back, on the well-travelled path. Be alert.Having said all that, I love this area. There's some ranch land up top (meadows), with some awesome old oaks you can siesta under. Cache is an ammo box. I left:- Drink sleeve- Mini toolkit- Jacks and ball set- 2 sherif badges- Plastic bracelet- Flexible frisbeeEnjoy!
