Iwami - By the Sea of Japan

Cache is located in the woods overlooking the Sea of Japan in Iwami Seaside Park, near Hamada, Japan. Most of the hike is easy, though it gets difficult once you leave the trail. A brief hike up the hill off the main trail through some thick vines and bushes. Cache is somewhat exposed from one direction, but still hard to find.
This is a great place to spend a day, playing on the beach, exploring the tidepools, or wandering near the cliffs. There are numerous cabins and tents for rent, or you can bring your own tent or RV. The Cache is hidden on a wooded hillside past the camping areas. There is a trail to follow most of the way. Difficulty is 2, as it's a long hike from where I parked, but there are numerous parking areas throughout the park. How close you can park depends upon what roads are open the day you go. Terrain is rated 3.5, mostly for the uphill climb off the main trail.
