Geocache Description:

A few miles south of Zoar Village is Ohio's most historic camp: Camp Tuscazoar (Since 1921) N40 33.79 E81 23.67 Be sure to visit (visit link) ph 330-859-2288

Enter the camp from Boy Scout road and be sure to park in the parking lot.

Find the sign in board at the entrance to the main service road. You MUST sign in to be in camp. OBTAIN a Visitor's Guide from the sign in board or museum brochure kiosk, which has a camp trail map!

Permission to geocache in this camp has been granted by the Camp Tuscazoar Foundation - Board of Directors. Visitors geocaching are permitted during dailight hours only!

Please feel free to tour the camp at your leisure. Sign out when you leave. Camp Tuscazoar is open to the public, so, feel free to visit again.

Note: The rail lines through Camp Tuscazoar that are shown on various maps have been removed. Rails-to-Trails.Any reference to mining is merely stated as a matter of historical reference since there are no mines on camp property.

Icky is a long enduring mascot of this camp since the 1950s and can be found on thousands of shirts, patches, memorabilia, and literature (including the Visitor's Guide). Icky's trail will lead you past old and new campsites, through pine forests, across back country streams, and wilderness valleys. From a remote old cabin to Buzzards Roost, to the last remaining Zoarite iron mine remnants, you will experience what thousands have before you. Walk the land where the Delaware Indian hunted, the German Separatists mined surrounding hills, and where traditions and memories flourish at Camp Tuscazoar. It is a place to roam, think, learn, and grow.

Begin your trek with your GPS, a copy of this sheet, a Visitor's Guide - trail map, and a desire for an adventure. I recommend taking the old stagecoach trail behind and to the left of the Stockade (opposite the service road). This will lead you to this listings coordinates, the head of the trail. Look for the small (about 6 inch) square white Icky's trail marker. Other markers are white markings in trees along the trail - keep a lookout... The trek will always be on a well established, and well marked trail. Please stay on established trails and enjoy the scenery (don't stare at your GPS unit!!).

This cache is designated a multicache, points along the way are virtual and the actual cache is at the end of your adventure. Take notes where needed and follow these instructions: Follow Icky's Trail to...
