Geocache Description:


This is an open preserve behind a housing tract and above Los Coches. Ginger! likes to take a stroll through here. We've seen rattlers and the near-endangered California Gnatcatcher.

This is a two-part multi. The first waypoint is an unlisted SD County surveyor disc about 900 feet from the parking coords up a somewhat steep hill. An alternate and more level route can be found end of Currant Ct but is .37 miles to the 1st waypoint. The cache is an ammo can about .3 miles between waypoints. It is at N32 50.959 W116 54.XXX. Substract 88 from the last 3 numbers of the year inscribed on the disc to obtain the missing #'s. The container is near the edge but you do not need to go over the edge; you will need to do a little boulder hopping.

In the Spring, expect high weeds for the last fifty feet or so to the cache; bring a walking stick/staff.
