Geocache Description:

IMPORTANT (6-25-12): EVEN THOUGH THIS CACHE IS VERY NEAR THE MAIN ROAD, PLEASE BE AWARE THERE HAVE BEEN RECENT BEAR ATTACKS ON HUMANS IN THIS GENERAL AREA. Cache is in Rim Country, which is also called Elk Country. It is just a short leg-stretcher from the parking area.

This general area has the largest concentration of elk in all of Arizona. "Elk Country" and "Watch For Elk" signs are along the highway for quite a stretch. Of course, driving slower than usual in this area is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED while watching out for elk. I was thrilled when I saw a group of 4 elk the day before placing this cache. Thank goodness, they weren't at all close to the busy road.

The cache is a medium-sized plastic jar with a white lid. Park at 34° 17.972 110° 52.322, and you can be at the cache site in a few minutes. You may see some elk here if you're lucky. Also, there is trout fishing at the nearby lake. Enjoy this scenic, serene setting!
