Geocache Description:

At the above location, near the heart of beautiful Mansfield University, deep in the Allegheny Mountain, in north-central Pennsylvania, you will find something that will look familiar. Park legally and prepare for a pleasant stroll up and down the mountains that make up our school.

Due south from that familiar sight is a brick wall. A hardly unusual name is planted high on the wall.

Add the numerals from the name and multiply their sum by 1928 and add 1232 to get your N/S coordinates.

Multiply their sum by 3582 and subtract 661 to get your E/W coordinates.

-----

It is possible to drive to your next destination, but unless you are familiar with the ins and outs of the oddities of college campuses, you might be better off walking. The campus is beautiful. The students are, by and large, friendly. The hike might be a little arduous, hence the Three Star rating for terrain.

-----

The second site on your journey might not ring a bell, as the first site did, but it offers one of the most beautiful views of the valley available.

-----

If you drove to the second site, you will want to make sure you are parked legally, as you may not drive to the third and final site. You may drive a little closer, but the major portion of your journey is behind you, so park and walk, if you can.

As you approach the cache, your GPS will take you to the left. You will be tempted to go right to the edge of the plateau. Yield to the temptation. You won't be sorry. The view will take your breath away.

If you can tear yourself away from the view, you will find the cache of interest as well.

The cache is a .50 cal. ammo can painted OD and primer tan. It contains a log book, four BookCrossing books and toys of interest to younger cachers. (Binoculars, jump ropes, marbles, maybe something else.) Please feel free to leave anything you like in the cache, but if you have a book to share with the world, it would be especially welcome.
