Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Jackson Park down towards Alameda's east end. The cache is a small round container, about 5-6" diameter, covered in black duct tape (courtesy of WhipArtist, who found it first =). There's ample parking within yards of the cache. It's flat and wheelchair accessible, but you'll need to stand to reach it.

Please be sure to conceal it well when rehiding; be sure it's not obviously visible from any angle.

My first cache placement in one of my favorite parks. Jackson Park is just over two acres flanked by beautiful Victorian homes; it was opened to the public in 1895, making it Alameda's oldest public park. The name of this cache is a reference to the Clark Memorial Bench at the south end of the park, a large green concrete affair donated by Isabelle Clark, an old-time resident of the neighborhood, in 1920 as a memorial to her late husband. The Clarks were great lovers of animals, thus the inscription on the bench which has puzzled and amused many (including us =) for many years.Happy hunting!
