Geocache Description:

Parking is available at N39.18.915 W086.25.304. The cache is about 3/4 mile walk with a trail to follow most of the way.

The path (gravel road) that you will follow for the first 1/2 mile will lead to the Draper Cabin - over 100 years old. After the cabin, you will follow a trail, cross the creek a time or two and finally have to do a little bushwacking uphill to the cache. None of the terrain is that steep or rugged so we rated it only as a 2-1/2. We thought the area was beautiful and enjoyed the walk to the cache. Cache is a thermos (1 quart size) filled with "stuff" and a logbook. Hope you enjoy - Please be sure to completely cover the cache when you leave.

7/8/04 - We went out today to drop a TB and check on the cache. The area beyond the cabin is more overgrown now so thought we should help you find the path that will take you most easily to the cache. It was much more obvious in the spring. Beyond the cabin is a large clearing with a fire ring. On the far side, there are two paths leading out. Take the left trail and it will quickly lead you to the creek. Cross the creek there (large slabs of rock) and continue on that path. Follow it until your GPS tells you that you need to cross the creek and go uphill to the cache. I'd say its about 500 ft or less to the cache when you leave the trail. The other path ends before you get to the cache and you have to use the creek bed or cross and hope you find the trail. This is a terrific area and although it is a long hike compared to some, it is a fairly easy hike. Good luck.
