A very short walk over rough moorland.
Tan Hill Inn, at 1732 ft. above sea level, claims to be the highest pub in Britain. It is set in the middle of the moors, with no other buildings in sight for miles around. On a fine day, the views are very extensive, especially to the north, but the weather can close down quickly, even in Summer, and it can then become a very bleak and lonely place. The pub is well known to walkers on the Pennine Way, as a welcome break on their journey.
