This cache is located in Burkes Garden, Virginia along it's south rim.
Burkes Garden is one of Virginia's greatest and most scenic wonders because it is almost completely encompassed by high mountains. Once upon a time the Vanderbilt family looked for land to purchase in the Garden to build their castle, which is now known as the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. Burkes Garden is known to have some of the most fertile land in the Commonwealth of Virginia, which is why so many farms are located there. The Appalachian Trail runs along the south rim and would be the easiest access to the cache site.
From the parking area on Route 623 (at the top of the mountain just as you start down the other side) you will travel along the Appalachian Trail which is generally a gradual slope, with a few rocks that can twist ankles...so be careful! Once you reach the area of the cache take some time to enjoy the views of Burkes Garden from the rock overhang. Just be careful around it and don't fall off.

Reminder: The Appalachian Trail crosses Route 623 at the top of the mountain just as you start down the other side. There is a parking area at the top of the mountain. Look for the white AT markers on the trees and stay on the trail.
