Geocache Description:


This cache is located on the moderate to strenuous Turkey Pen Gap trail.The first .10 mile is a heart pumper.

Turkey Pen Gap is located between Mills River and Brevard off of Hwy 280. Take Turkey Pen Gap Road N35 19.744 W082 38.789 to the end of the road, this is about 1¼ mile of a winding dirt road. Park in the designated Parking.

The Turkey Pen Gap trailhead is accessed from the parking lot. The cache container is a plastic jar filled with exchangeable items and placed on the right side of the trail. It ain’t 10 feet from a (now fallen) 30 foot stump and it ain’t 10 feet off the trail.

Please remember that animals have a much keener sense of smell than we humans. Please do not place food, candy, gum, or any other scented items such as soaps, candles or "wipes" in the cache, as animals often mistake these items as food, and will destroy the cache container trying to get to it. Also, please hide the cache container so it is not visible, so that other geocachers may enjoy the hunt. - Thanks
