Geocache Description:


One of eight caches placed along a two mile loop at Turkey Pen Gap. More than one of the caches is too small for a pen or pencil, so be sure to bring your own to sign the logs.

Turkey Pen Gap is located between Mills River and Brevard off of Hwy 280. Take Turkey Pen Gap Road N35 19.744 W082 38.789 to the end of the road, this is about 1¼ mile of winding dirt road. Park in the designated parking.

We started this loop to the left and behind the kiosk on S. Mills River Trail. All references to the right or left of the trail are made using this starting point.

The cache is hidden on the kiosk. It is a small pill container which is attached with velcro.

This is an "easy" one to get you started...


Please remember that animals have a much keener sense of smell than we humans. Please do not place food, candy, gum, or any other scented items such as soaps, candles or "wipes" in the cache, as animals often mistake these items as food, and will destroy the cache container trying to get to it. Also, please hide the cache container so it is not visible, so that other geocachers may enjoy the hunt. - Thanks
