Geocache Description:

Saw these basalt pillars and knew I had to place a cache here. The kids scrabbled up the loose basalt but I had to be much more careful.

Basalt Pillars have always fascinated me, and I had never driven this far down the Old Inland Empire Highway.

A climb to the top of the columns looks possible, but is beyond this ole guy. The kids sure had fun though!

I could give a hint, like it is under some rocks, but that would be too obvious. Instead let me say it is not near the tall columns at all but is near large piece of basalt. Just watch your footing, don't want to have to scoot down the hill because of a twisted ankle. There are two itty bitty first aid kits in the cache if you need them for scraped knees - unless someone trades out for them :)

The cache container is a regular ammo can containing an assortment of items. My 3 youngest boys (YeLittleImposters) helped me hide it.

Here is the view from the road. Be careful you can be spotted by geo-muggles from the road!

Unless you are the owner of one of these locks, I would suggest not going beyond this point. Quite the contraption.
