Deze cache is geplaatst met het idee dat de cache de aanleiding is voor een bezoek aan dit specifiek stukje Noord Holland. Dus geen moeilijke puzzels, of ingewikkelde aanwijzingen.
De cache is niet te bereiken op de 1e donderdag van de maand tussen 9.00 uur en 12.30 uur als dit een werkdag is.
Dit eiland heet de Westwouderpolder en is ontstaan door bedijking in de 17e eeuw van het bestaande veengebied. Na de bedijking is het veen ingeklonken en kwam het poldergebied lager te liggen dan zijn omgeving, het Alkmaardermeer.
De Woude is een uniek eilandje in het Alkmaardermeer. Een piepkleine gemeenschap die keer op keer laat zien hoe 130 'boeren, burgers en buitenlui' ook in 2004 kunnen samenleven, samenwonen en samen lol maken.
De Woude heeft zichzelf georganiseerd dmv een Stichting (voor alle sociaal/culturele activiteiten) en een vereniging (voor alle politieke/bestuurlijke activiteiten).
Op het Eiland De Woude heeft in 2002 een uniek project zijn beslag gekregen. Met vereende inzet van bewoners, vrijwilligers, donateurs/sponsors, fondsen en de Gemeente Akersloot is er een dorpshuis verrezen op de plaats van het voormalige Kerkje. Het Kerkje is in Zaanse stijl herbouwd, waardoor er na vele jaren weer een openbare gelegenheid is voor sociale en culturele activiteiten.
Vanaf 13 december 2002 heet het dorpshuis op De Woude : 'De Kemphaan'

Je kunt linksom of rechtsom, maar je kan niet middendoor. De totale route is zo’n 8 kilometer en is alleen te voet te doen.

This cache is placed with the idea that the cache is the reason to visit this specific part of North Holland. So there are no difficult puzzles, or complicated clues.
This cache can’t be reached on the first thursday of the month between 9.00 and 12.30 hours if it is a workday.
This island is called the Westwouderpolder and is arised by embedding through dikes of the existing moor in the 17th century. Through the embedding the new polder became lower than the surrounding area., the Alkmaarderlake.
The Woude is a unique island in the Alkmaarderlake. A small community of 130 persons show how people can live together and have fun together.
The Woude has organised itself in a foundation (for all social/cultural activities) and a union (for all political/governmental activities).
In 2002 a unique project came to live on the island The Woude . With all hands of inhabitants, volunteers, sponsors, funds and the community of Akersloot a community building rose on the foundation of the former church. The church is rebuild in the so called Zaanse style. (From the villages along the river Zaan). Now there is again a public possibility for social and cultural activities.
Starting december 13, 2002 this community building on The Woude is called: ‘De Kemphaan’ (‘The Fiting-cock’).
