The cache itself is located near to both brindleyplace and Gas St Basin just off Broad St. Nearby are the International Convention Centre, Symphony Hall, and the Rep theatre, as well as many pubs (including the one where Bill Clinton famously didn't pay for his beer).
Also near here is the only 'traffic island' I've ever seen on a canal. It's actual purpose was as part of an arrangment of gates that would automatically close in the event of part of the canal nearby (that runs over a railway tunnel) being bombed, to prevent the canal emptying into the tunnel. The whole area is worth an explore as there's a lot of evidence of Birmingam's canal heritage around, all within a very few minutes of the city centre.

Old Turn Junction was created because of a significant change to the canal system here: What was the change, when did it take place, and who was responsible for it?

You may find the buildings interfere with GPS signal- we got our fix from one of the bridges nearby.
