Geocache Description:

Take a bike ride and find a cache!

Cycling the scenic, remote roads of Central Texas is one of my favorite things to do when I’m not Geocaching. Most cyclists are always on the lookout for good ride maps, and most geocachers are on the lookout for scenic places to cache. So here you go! This is my first in a series I’ll call Cycle Central Texas where I’ll combine my two hobbies.

Fairland Loop: Starting on CR122 just west of Marble Falls, this out-and-back route will take you 20 miles through a rugged valley and then out into serene farmland. The wildflowers along here are as spectacular as any I’ve ever seen in Texas. It’s a flat ride, suitable for novice riders. Turn back whenever you feel like you’re half-way tired! You will cross several cattle guards and low water crossings. Keep your wheel perpendicular to the guard, and ALWAYS walk your bike through water!

If you MUST drive instead of ride to the cache site, please drive carefully and watch out for cyclists who may be right around the next curve. It could be ME!

Please email me through Geocaching.com enabling me to respond to your true email address for a GPX or MPS file you can use to load this map into your computer or GPS!

Cache is a micro container within 10 feet of the road in the right of way. Please read the hint if you are feeling the need to go farther off the road than that! Bring your own pen.

PRINTING NOTE: To print ONLY the map, please click the image link below and print from the new page. If you want to print the cache page with map included, please use the "print friendly" page, because the formatting on the main page will cause some text to be clipped off the right side. I didn't want to make the map any smaller; it would be too hard to read! Thanks!
