If you are riding across country on your favorite horse, about half
way between St Jo, Texas, and Nacona, you will top a beautiful
ridge, clear view in all directions. It is a marvelous view, green
pastures, cattle grazing near by...
At this spot, you will find a cedar tree, the only one near by.
The tree is growing out of an oblong area of rocks, a very restful
place. There is a name carved into one of the rocks....
E-mail me with that name, and the year also.
See if you can find the earliest recorded marker. Xanthippa
Rountree. 1875.
Believe me, this is a very pleasant spot, and worth the short
drive. Watch for wildlife all along the route. If you happen to be
in the area with a mountain bike, so much the better.
The cache is in a gap in the rocks...NOT IN THE TREE... Please
don't disturb the serenity and beauty of the location, or damage
the tree. Sign the log book, and carefully replace it in the
crack.
