Emery Park, one of Erie Co. Parks, located south of Buffalo, in the Towns of Aurora and South Wales.Josiah Emery owned 175 acres in the town of Aurora. He and his family worked the land for over 100 yrs.. In 1925 the Parks Commission purchased the 175 acre property from Helen B Emery. Highlights were the Rock Garden, a 600 person amphitheater, a Formal Garden, a Stone Arch Footbridge and the Emery Inn. The Inn, est. in 1926, used as a museum and restaurant, was the former home of the Emery's. The Park contains sixty nine structures, 95% of the structures built in or before 1935. Emery Park has evolved into a 489 acre park. The Park offers a natural environment for family gatherings. One of our nature trails was constructed by our Parks Rangers and is approximately 1 mi. long. Other features include: baseball, softball, biking, hiking trails, picnic facilities, x-country skiing and downhill- skiing, snowmobiling and tobogganing.

Plant Life: Eastern Hemlock, Butternut, Tamarack, Black Willow, Norway Spruce, Black Locust, Northern White Cedar, Witch Hazel, Big Tooth Aspen, Eastern White Pine, Red Pine, Scots Pine, Black Cherry, White Ash, Yellow Ash, Yellow Birch, Beech, Sugar Maple, American Elm, American Basswood, American Hornbeam. In addition, there are ferns, moss/lichens, and Thistle. Mammals: Keep an eye open for white tail deer, rabbits, skunks, raccoons, and of course squirrels. Birds If you have a keen sense of hearing and sight, maybe you can catch a glimpse, and hear the sounds of the Herons, Jays, owls, and Woodpeckers.
Summer: Hike through the self-guided mapped nature trail, or walk through the lush greenery along Cazenovia Creek. Plan a picnic and grill at our spacious shelters. Kids love the playground area or play ball at our diamonds. Bicycle by the paved winding roads.
Winter: Experience free downhill skiing all winter long and snowboard at our new snowboarding slope. Warm up to the cozy fireplaces at the ski lodge after the 2-mile X-country skiing run or snowshoeing through the trails. Snowmobile trails are marked. The Judge Strohrer`s Lodge offers a lighted natural ice skating rink.
Cache Info: Enter the park from the south (suggested), Rt. 400 / Rt16 entrance. Follow the signs to the Ski Lodge / Lift area. Follow the sign to the bathroom and park here at N42°43.055 W078°35.715. From here you can access Emery's Easy Out and start Emery's Escape
This is a four (4) leg multi - cache. The final cash is a 50 cal. cache can. I used the trails to place the cache. There is no need to bushwhack if you stay on the trail. Please be aware of others, when retrieving the micros or final cache, and please put them back as you found it, they should be well hidden.
