Geocache Description:

Cucamonga Wilderness that is...Cache is located about 2 miles up the Ice House Canyon Trail near Mt. Baldy Village. You'll need to make it all the way up the trail to the border of the Cucamonga Wilderness.

This is a great hike up a well used trail outside of Mt. Baldy Village. Follows a year round stream for nearly the whole way. R/T of about 4 miles. Park at 34d 15.011 / 117d 38.154 (4800 ft) and hike about 2 miles to the cache (~5800 ft). You'll need a wilderness parking permit to park here (available at the ranger station in the village, or a house just before the parking area ~$5)We made this with a 3,9 and 12 year old, but it took a fair amount of carrying for the 3 year old. There is a split in the trail about 1.2 miles up...Do not take the left trail up the hill - keep going straight. If your feeling good after you get to the cache, you can keep following the trail up to the notch(~2 more miles) and a great view. You can also hike to the summit of one or more of the "3 T's" - Telegraph/Thunder and Timber Mtns. Reception of the GPS is a little tough in the canyon, and there are lots of hiding places in the area of the cache, so you may want to take a look at the hint!
