A short walk in and around Moedling.
Deutsche Version:
Ausgangspunkt für unsere kleine Wanderung durch Mödling ist der Schrannenplatz (N 48°05.150 und E 16°16.995) in unmittelbarer Nähe des Rathauses (siehe auch „Schwarzer Turm / Black Tower“).
Stage 1:
Mödling hat einige europäische Partnerstädte, einige davon finden wir hier. Welche Stadt „liegt“ zwischen Offenbach und Zemun? Wenn wir die ersten beiden Buchstaben des Namens dieser Stadt auf einer Telefontastatur eingeben, erhalten wir eine 2-stellige Zahl, nennen wir sie „A“.
Stage 2:
Bleiben wir noch in der Fußgänger-Zone und bewundern wir die schönen, alten Häuser. Doch halt, hier gibt es doch wirklich ein (Gast)Haus, das erklärtermaßen KEIN Kulturdenkmal ist. Wir wollen hoffen, daß es trotzdem nicht mutwillig zerstört wird und notieren seine Hausnummer. Wieder erhalten wir eine 2-stellige Zahl, nennen wir sie „B“.
Stage 3:
N 48°05.0 (A+20)
E 16°16.(A+B)*8+6
Hier hat man nicht nur eine schöne Aussicht auf Mödling sondern findet auch eine kurze Biographie des J. Friedrich Freiherr von Loehr. Notieren wir die Zahl des Jahres, in dem er nach Wien kam (4-stellig) und nennen sie „C“.
Stage 4:
In der Nähe befindet sich das Haus, in dem ein bekannter österreichischer Dichter von 1918 bis zu seinem Tod am 3. Mai 1932 wohnte. Der nahe "Weg" verrät seinen Namen. Notieren wir auch hier die Hausnummer (1-stellig) und nennen diese Zahl „D“.
Stage 5 (Cache):

Der Cache befindet sich wenige Meter abseits des Weges.
Der Cache ist in einer Plastik-Dose untergebracht und enthielt ursprünglich:
- Logbuch (bitte nicht entfernen)
- Bleistift (bitte nicht entfernen)
- switch - Schlüsselring
- 5 Tolar (slowenisch)
- Mini-Kompass
- Trillerpfeife
- Plastikbär
English version:
The starting point for our little walk through Mödling is at the Schrannenplatz (N 48°05.150 E 16°16.995) which is very close to the famous “Rathaus” (City Hall) that is also mentioned in “Schwarzer Turm / Black Tower”.
Stage 1:
Mödling has connections with some other European Partner-Cities, some of them we can find here. Which City is “between” Offenbach and Zemun? Take the first 2 letters of the name of that city and enter them on a telephone keyboard. Let us call the 2-digit number you get “A”.
Stage 2:
Let us stay a little while in the pedestrian zone and look at all those beautiful old houses. But stop, there is one, which is by declaration NOT a cultural property! Let us hope that it won´t be destroyed anyhow and write down the number of that house. Again we get a 2-digit number that we will call “B”
Stage 3:

At this point we will not only find a nice view over Mödling but also a short biography of J. Friedrich Freiherr von Loehr. Note the 4-digits of the year when he moved from Wezlar to Vienna and call this number “C”.
Stage 4:
Close to where we are now is the house where a famous Austrian poet lived from 1918 until his death on May 3, 1932. The lane ("Weg") nearby will tell you his name. Let us again note the 1-digit of the number of this house and call it “D”.
Stage 5 (Cache):

The cache is located only a few meters from the path.
The cache in a small glass initially contains:
- Logbook (please don´t remove)
- Pencil (please don´t remove)
- switch key-ring
- 5 Tolar (Slovenian money)
- Little compass
- Whistle
- Plastic bear.
