The cache (accuracy 10 m; elevation 22 m) is hidden in a 250
millilitre cylindrical translucent plastic container. You can park
within about 5 minutes walk of the cache.
You may get there by following harbour road beside the peninsula
for about 29 km from the city centre, and then stopping about 5 m
before a power pole on the left of the gradual right-hand curve in
the road above Harington Point, that is, about one km before you
get to the Royal Albatross Colony on Taiaroa Head (park at S
45°47.025' E 170°43.433'). You may then follow the gravel and grass
tracks down the hill to the cache.
After you find the cache or otherwise, you may like to explore
the fortifications all around you, some date from before WWI. You
may wish to bring a torch to help you explore some of the tunnels,
one of them is over 100 m long.
