Balance Beam Creek Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

EnergySaver: Decided to retire this cache today ... team EnergySaver's first hide (sniff, sniff). The tree in the area has rotted to the point of not being the best hiding place any more and it's time to free up this corner of the park in case someone else would like to hide one for us to find [:-)]

Geocache Description:

In Sauk Creek Nature Preserve. Not far off trail; but will get your shoes dirty, and risk of exposure to unfriendly twigs and branches.

Winter Rating: Good to about 1 or 2 inches of snow cover.

The "locals" enjoy this preserve by parking in gravel area off the road at N43 23.690 W087 52.949. Check out the preserve pictures below, the water really flows in spring!
As you follow the path north, you may pass by a pair of man-made "Balance Beams", but no need to walk across them. However, you will come upon one of God's balance beams on the path, that broke off years ago leaving a 15 foot high "stump", nearby you'll find your "prize" (standard metal ammo box). This is our first cache hide.
Please put the box back exactly where you found it. The bottom should be touching the ground, not up on something. Cover it up again.
