This is an easy puzzle that leads you to a cache in a neighborhood park. It's 1.5/1.5 because there's some arithmetic to do and because the last few feet are off the paved paths. Other than that, there's no bushwacking. If you're off a paved path, go back and check your arithmetic! To find this cache, go to the park and find the clues you need. The park is open from dawn to dusk, and it's a great place for kids and dogs. There is parking along the street at N 45°27.610 W 122°49.662.
- Find the Beaverton Neighborhood sign at the cache coordinates. Count the number of letters in the first word of the neighborhood's name.
A = number of letters
B = A plus 3
C = 2 to the B power
- Proceed approximately C feet to the southwest. Count the cooling fins on the large green object you find there. Also, find a small marker on the ground behind the large green object. Count the number of characters in the two words on the small marker.
D = number of fins
E = number of characters
F = D times E times 2
- Proceed approximately F feet to the west-northwest. Count the number of large poles that you find there.
G = number of poles
H = (G + 1) * E
- You are looking for a small tree approximately H feet north of the poles. The cache is on the ground near the trunk of the tree. Please keep the cache on the up hill side of the tree.
