Geocache Description:

NOTE: Since the cache thief has been caught and identified and no caches have been taken since, I'm putting this back to a regular cache. I placed this micro cache at the site of an original WhippleBridge and in honor of Anton( who's caches teach us a little about the area we live in). This bridge was in Talcottville,N.Y. and basicly wasting away when some enterprising local citizens realized what a historic treasure this was. You can learn more about Squire Whipple at www.whipple.org/blaine/squire.html or www.famousamericans.net/squirewhipple. Squire Whipple's bridge design was used up and down the Erie Canal. There is a pencil in the cache but just to make sure you should bring your own writing implement. http://www.ce.ufl.edu/~historic/75remain/75list.html
