This is a 2-part cache in which the coordinates lead you to a bridge where a micro container holds slips with the final coordinates. Final container is a 50 cal. Ammo box hidden approx. 1 mile away.
The Troll Under The Bridge is a story we used to tell people when we would cruise to this small, unassuming bridge in the middle of nowhere. It runs over a channel that connects 2 quarries. 20 years ago both quarries were full of water, and it was fun to have people walk to the edge and look down, because the water ran 30 feet below the bridge. It was quite a drop!!! The guardrail is only knee-high, so you didn’t want to lean over too far. All the girls were scared, and the guys adventurous. No one knew how deep the channel was, but 2 of my friends tried to prove their manhood by jumping off this little bridge just before they entered the military. We warned them about the Troll that liked to grab people off the bridge, and we tied ropes on them to haul them back up in case of trouble. The troll hid his treasure under the bridge, and we would offer him trinkets and libations to keep him happy. Others have a different name for this bridge, but we won’t go in to that!!They recently drained the quarries to begin new digging, and they found “stolen” cars, refrigerators, appliances, and all kinds of junk at the bottom. They also forced the poor Troll to move his stash elsewhere. The bridge now overlooks a 100-ft drop into a junkpile!! The Troll has found a happy, quiet place where he won’t be disturbed anymore. That’s where you will find his treasures (so he calls them, but he’s just a Troll after all)!!
Update for 2/06, when we replaced the missing container we used a tupperware quart-sized container instead of an ammo box.
