Canyon Creek Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Riddlers: We are going to archieve this since the new gravel and surrounding area has changed the landscape. We will try to place a different kind of landscape in the general area but it will be at least twenty feet from the original spot. If someone beats us to it then at least there will be a cache here. In the mean time we will archieve it and rethink the location. Thanks to all who have found this cache.

Geocache Description:

A bit of history and an easy hide with easy on and off of I-5, with plenty of parking.

Canyon Creek is a narrow gorge formed by Canyon Creek and has long served as a travel route. Native Americans used this route and now millions of vehicles travel this same route. Alexander McLeod of the Hudson's Bay first wrote about this route in 1820. Today a historic memorial stands to provide this information to anyone who stops to read it. We have hidden a small square tupperware type box with a few items and a log/pencil near by. You do not have to go off into the brush. There is poison oak in the brush. We cut the offending stuff away from near where we hid this.Don't forget that there are now two caches to be found by taking this exit. The other is just a short drive down the road from here, then you can easily get back on I-5 to continue your traveling.
