IMPORTANT UPDATE! 5/3/10 I had heard that the gentleman and one of
his lovely companions had been killed by a lightning strike, but I
had to visit the area myself to see what happened. Although his
gallant efforts to save both ladies by taking the hit was thwarted,
one lady remains safe. I have moved the cache to the updated
coordinates where a monument is erected in memory of these two. Ah,
Spring is in the air. The birds and bees are busy doing their
thing, couples stroll hand in hand, and the mornings still have a
hint of coolness that will disappear all too soon.
While looking for the Lucky Lizard Cache in the same area, I
fell in love with this park. Imagine my surprise while hiking in
solitude I came upon a stately, older "gentleman" who sported a
tall, slender "lady" under each arm. He seemed very proud of his
accomplishment, and both of the "ladies" were very much at ease in
his company. Although it is rude to stare, I had to stop and gaze
on this public display of male pride. I felt that this deserved a
cache so that others can appreciate this phenomenon.
The cache container is a camoed cylindrical tube that is
approximately 1 quart in size. There is a "gold" Sacajawea dollar
and a geo-compass keychain for FTF if they desire. Please make sure
the container is not visible from the trail when you replace it. I
hope you enjoy this area as much as I did. And guys, take TWO of
your favorite girls to see this one!
