Franklin Lake Overlook Traditional Cache

This is the third cache that I have placed in High Mountain Wilderness Preserve. Each of them is close to a great view. The Preserve is is vast underused wilderness area between Franklin Lakes and Wayne. A map is available at this link.
This location Overlooks Franklin Lake. I came in from Dakota Trail in Franklin Lakes. It is close to the water tower from which you can get a view of Point View Resevoir on one side and Franklin Lake on the other. From Dakota, follow the trail to the white trail to the blue trail. This leads to Pancake Hollow which is a nice hike. The blue trail rises so that eventually you will be overlooking the Dakota Trail parking area. Bushwacking this is difficult as there are a lot of loose rocks. The cache is an ammo box containing a radio/compass with headphones, a bike lock, rummy game, pruning sheers, squishy ball and a brass padlock.
I now have a total of 9 caches in this park and an additional one nearby, Buttermilk Falls. Get them all for a good tour of High Mountain Wilderness Preserve
