Old Hwy. 1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kosh Naranek: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Cache is located between two well-traveled areas and requires some scrambling on a slope to get to it.

Cache is a cammo'd/painted black .30-caliber ammo can hidden where you have to stick your head practically on top of it to see it, but you'll know where it's hidden as you get closer. Lots of good goodies in the cache with room to add more. You can access the cache from the State Park but the cache is located on a city-designated recreation site. This area is really popular for people walking dogs and watching the ocean and sunset. (See photo!) But be mindful of being caught trying to find the cache; people can walk up unexpectedly. And be sure to hide the cache back in the same spot so it can't be seen by the casual muggle. The cache's namesake will be obvious once you find it but just for the fun of it you can see the remains of the old Hwy. 1 closer to the current highway, one of a small portion still around since El Nino storms washed it away many, many, many years ago. First hint gets you close, second hint gives it away! Have fun!!!
