De tocht is geschikt voor het hele gezin, honden zijn, aangelijnd, toegestaan. Bushaltes binnen 1 km. Het gebied kan heel nat zijn.
De buurtschap Terheyl ontstond ongeveer 500 jaar geleden als uithof van het klooster van Aduard. Monniken en broeders, die hun plichten verzaakten, werden naar 'Die Helle' overgeplaatst en hielden zich daar onder andere bezig met het scheppen van veen.
Mede hierdoor is een poel ontstaan, die als naam 'Vagevuur' heeft meegekregen vanwege de zware arbeid en de vele muggen.
Over de rijke en gevarieerde natuur, die karakteristiek is voor een 'potklei' gebied en over de historie van deze plek is tijdens de wandeling op een tweetal borden voldoende informatie beschikbaar.
De hele tocht kan over de paden worden gelopen. Graven is niet noodzakelijk. Let op dat je niet op privé terrein komt.
De schat bevindt zich op: N 53º 09.GDA E 006º 23.EHC.
Onderweg zullen de waarden van ABCDEFGH gevonden kunnen worden.
1. Parkeer bij WP 1 (N 53º 09.233 E 6º 23.724) en ga rechts van het infobord het pad in.
2. Ga via WP2 (N 53º 09.136 E 6º 23.730) naar WP3 (N 53º 09.178 E 6º 23.762), houd daarbij links aan.
A=aantal bruggen, waar je overheen bent gelopen.
3. Ga naar WP4 (N 53º 09.141 E 6º 23.864) en bepaal de omtrek van de poel in meters.
B=5 als de uitkomst ongeveer 60 is
B=2 als de uitkomst ongeveer 90 is
B=7 als de uitkomst ongeveer 120 is
4. Ga naar WP5 (N 53º 09.114 E 6º 23.939) en vervolg in oostelijke richting. Na “Veghe Vuir” rechtsaf naar Vagevuur.
Zoek op het infobord het getal, dat hoort bij Atlanticum. Deel dit door 1000. Dit is C.
5. Ga naar WP6 (N 53º 08.950 E 6º 24.336) en zoek het briefje met de coördinaat van WP7.
6. Ga naar WP7 (coordinaten van briefje).
De afstand van hier naar Leek is X, de afstand van Roden naar Norg plus 1 is Y.
7. Ga naar WP8 (N 53º 09.X39 E 6º 23.Y91).
Het aantal letters, waaruit de achternaam bestaat, is D.
8. Ga naar WP9 (N 53º 09.305 E 6º 24.005) en zoek hier E.
9. F=het aantal gaten, dat in het steen van de duiventoren zit.
10. G = F-X-E-C+1
11. H = D-B
Ga nu naar: N 53º 09.GDA E 6º 23.EHC en zoek de cache.

The walk is suitable for the whole family. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Bus stops within 1 kilometer.
The neighborhood Terheyl was founded some 500 years ago as country seat of the convent of Aduard. Monks and brothers who had neglected their duties were transferred to 'Die Helle' (hell) were they had to dig in the peat. Partly because of this a puddle originated that was named 'Vagevuur' (purgatory).
Digging was not only boring and hard labor, but also mosquito bites made working there a hell.
The rich and varied nature, that is characteristic for a 'potklei' area (a kind of clay), and the history of this place are described on two information panels (only in Dutch).
You can follow the paths throughout the whole walk. Digging is not necessary. Be careful not to trespass private property.
