Geocache Description:

I decided to place this cache while i was supervising the drilling of investigation and monitoring bores for the Preston Beach water supply.

It is in a bush reserve area near bores 3/04 and 4/04 (meaning they are the third and fourth bores drilled by water corporation in the area in 2004). The geology of the area consists of Tamala limestone overlying the Leederville Formation (part of the Warnbro group), most of the fresh water in the area is in the shallow Tamala limestones - and is recharged by rainfall over the catchment area.

You can use a 4WD on the tracks around the pine plantations, however if you don't have a 4WD the site is only a 600m walk from the sealed road.

There is an existing production bore near the main road (1/98) which provides the current water supply for the Preston Beach township, but the town is growing and using more water than this bore can provide!

The cache is a clear clip up container

HAPPY HUNTING!
