Skull Ridge Cache Multi-Cache
Coureurs de Bois: Due to the reduced interest in this cache, over the past couple of years, we regret that we are archiving this Skull Ridge Cache. Thanks for all the favorites and the many positive comments from cachers who have logged this cache. This area still remains Crown Land and open for anyone to trek to the lookout to enjoy the view and the adventure. Coureurs de Bois makes this journey every fall during the colour so if, in the future, you seek out this location our paths may cross. Happy Caching.

This multi-cache is designed for the geocacher looking for the challenge of leaving the city parks behind and adventuring into some "back-country". It is a three (3) stage cache, rated at 4 for difficulty, based solely on the duration of the journey. All aspects of this cache are on Crown Land, so feel free to explore. All caches are traditional and regular in size. From North Bay, an estimated 3-4 hours is required (round trip) to find this cache. This cache is not snow friendly.
The first cache (coordinates given) can be accessed from Highway #63, on Songis Road with a passenger car. At this spot, coordinates, directions, and an additional hint to the second cache will be found. The route will follow along bush-roads ideal for 4X4 pick-ups, mountain bikes, ATVs or a pleasant walk of 2.8 kilometers. NOTE: During ideal road conditions a car may easily cut this distance in half. At the second cache, coordinates, instructions, and an additional hint to the third and final cache site will be found. Here, all forms of transportation can be parked and a challenging 350 meter bush hike will be ahead of you. The cache site is one of our family’s favorite spots within the Blue Sky Region and is well worth the journey. The best season to visit, of course, is the fall when the colour is on and the sunsets are breathtaking. Remember to bring your camera. The wearing of blaze orange in the months of September through November is recommended. This was a popular lunch destination for the family when our children were 5-7 years old. We do not expect many geocachers to attempt this cache but for those who accept our challenge…Congratulations, we trust that it will be memorable. This cache is the original home to our two Travel Bugs: Home Sick Bruin and Home Sick Ursa.
