Centroid Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoover and Root: I went to replace the cache today and saw a squirrel in the hole in the tree where the cache was. Since this is the second time I've seen that and I don't want our caches to disturb any wildlife, I decided to look for another hiding spot. I walked around the park for about 90 minutes but just couldn't find a spot I liked. Everywhere would either be too hard for geocachers to find or too easy for muggles to stumble across. Oh well, I guess I'll archive this one.

Geocache Description:

A hands-on multicache in Kingston's City Park. Bring a calculator and a tape measure with you. To retrieve the cache you need to be either tall or agile, or have something to stand on.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but you might be able to park there.

Go to the 10 waypoints shown on the map. At each one you will find either a small wooden sign or a slab of concrete. Write down the first five words and the last digit that appear on each sign. Measure the sizes of the concrete slabs and note their coordinates.

Calculate the center of mass of the "system" of concrete slabs, assuming all the slabs are of equal thickness. Alphabetize the text from the signs and use the digits, in that order, to complete the following sentence:

From the centroid, walk at bearing of _ _ _ degrees from true north for _ _ _ meters.

The cache is about the size of a roll of quarters and contains a logbook and a pencil stub, but no trading items. Please be discrete. This park can get very busy.
