Geocache Description:

A brief tour of well-known WPA projects in American Fork.

During the Depression in the 1930's, unemployment was a big problem in American Fork as it was across the nation. In answer to the problem, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt created the Works Progress Administration in 1935. It was renamed the Work Projects Administration in 1939 when it became part of the Federal Works Agency.

Its goal was to provide work for people on relief by employing them on useful projects. Click Here for more information on the WPA.

This cache will take you to historical markers placed to commemorate three of those projects that continue to benefit the citizens of American Fork today. Use information from each of these markers to build the coordinates of the next.

The cache container is rather small and only contains a log sheet and a pencil.
