Welcome to the Lake Wheeler Adventure (well maybe not exactly an adventure but it's a cache regardless). You can park on Penny Road at N35 42.102 W078 43.196. If those spots are taken there is parking on the opposite side of the bridge. This is a nice walk through the woods along Lake Wheeler. I didn't see any poison anything in my walk for the whole .1 mile. You will sometimes see fishermen along the river, stop and say hello. You are looking for a small size ammo box full of, you bet, fishing tackle. I didn't put any hooks in so kids won't stab themselves. You might even find something you need. The ammo box is hidden in a very traditional manner so you won't have much trouble finding it. There are a lot of nice cool places to fish so you might wet a line while you are here.
