Geocache Description:

Situated on marshland you will be confronted by the wide open vista of the Solway estuary.

Take time to read the panel in front of the monument to Longshanks, also known as the Hammer of the Scots, but better known as Edward 1st of England. He died here in 1307 of dysentery, within sight of the shores of Scotland which had plagued him for so long.

When was the monument built?
