Connelly Cemetery is a well maintained hilltop cemetery along a blacktop county road. Off road parking is available.
Reverend David Elkins, a pioneer circuit preacher and veteran of the War of 1812, is buried here. According to local history Rev. Elkins preached a funeral sermon for Nancy Hanks Lincoln, mother of Abraham Lincoln, a few months after her death at the request of her young son Abraham. The coordinates shown are for the Elkins Grave plot. The cache is hidden approx. 55 feet from the SE corner of the Elkins plot at a heading of about 190 degrees. You are looking for a match safe.
