Away from the hustle and bustle of water sports on the Rock River, Gibbs Lake is a quiet and relaxed place to come canoeing or fishing – if you can take time off from geocaching, that is! Park at N42 47.137 W89 10.848 and enjoy a round trip hike of about 7/10ths mile. This cache has a furry animal theme: please no hard plastic or McD toys. (NADB)
Let the game begin - Capture the Flag!
This is a fun game between the cachers of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. I have hidden a flag at the above coordinates and it is the mission of the Illinois cachers to capture it and hide it in a new cache the finder creates in Winnebago County. All hides in Wisconsin must be in Rock County.
These two adjoining counties should be the perfect place to play out this game.Once hidden in Winnebago, those from the north will track it down and bring it back to Rock and the game continues.
Please name your new cache a sequential name - the next one should be Capture the Flag II and so on.
If you find the flag and it is in the county listed - please leave it for the other team (WI or IL) to find.
There will be a logbook and pencil in the cache and anyone is welcome to visit/find the cache and log in without playing if you like. Once the flag is gone all that will be left is the log.These caches will remain in place and can be visited long after the flag is gone - it should be interesting for others to go to all the locations.
So all you Northern Illinois cachers - the challenge is out there - see if you can capture the flag!
