Geocache Description:

This 3 stage multicache is set in western Chippenham and takes in some of the area’s lesser known history. This cache is suitable for young children and buggies (with a little effort) but due to terrain not wheelchairs. It’s a walk of a couple of miles however all locations are fairly close to main roads if you need to travel by car. Waterproof footwear is advisable for the final location if the weather has been wet.

Originally to commemorate a wonderful holiday to Disneyworld, Florida this (now small) cache held Disney items. However it has now been restocked with bits and bobs appropriate to it's new size. The co-ordinates at the top of the page are for the first stage of this multi cache. Note the number (x) of this illumination and use it to find the second stage. N 51 27.776 W 2 x.475. The second stage was chosen as it is near Sheldon Manor (visit link) the oldest inhabited dwelling in Wiltshire. Check the date (abcd) before you sit down for a rest and use it to find the final stage of the cache. N 51 28.ab9 W 2 1d.5(a x 2)1. This final location is set a short walk from a relatively unknown Neolithic long barrow which was once the final resting place of up to 20 of Chippenhams earliest residents. Watch out for the ducks and on a clear day a fine view of Chippenham can be seen from N 51 28.16 W 2 10.472
