Geocache Description:

***NOTE: COORDINATES AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE ARE NOT THE LOCATION OF THE CACHE. FOR THE ACTUAL CACHE COORDINATES, SEE BELOW!!!

Why the parking coordinates at the top of the page? The reason is that if we didn't use the parking coordinates for the starting point, many cachers would approach this cache from different start points. Almost any other starting point will require a cacher to cross onto private property. In order to respect the property of others, and yet still place a cache to honor those that helped out at the two CITO events held here, it was necessary to place the parking coordinates at the top of the page instead. Our apoligies to any cachers that didn't read this cache page first. We hope you understand!

5/27/23 Update: This cache is being changed to a 4.5 terrain difficulty since the path to this cache has grown wildly over the past few years. I tried to bike to this cache today for cache maintenance and it was extremely difficult to do so. The road that used to go to within about 100' of the cache is almost totally gone. Because there is a very long drive getting to this cache without any other caches nearby, and since there is about a 1/2 mile hike to the cache from the parking area, and because the vegetation has become so overgrown, I literally had the cache in my hand and started back to the parking area with it along with the intention of archiving this cache. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I decided to leave the cache active for the few adventurous cachers that come along every couple of years looking for a challenge &/or caches that are pushing 20 years old. Visiting this cache location brought back great memories of the two CITO events that we had here with some of the greatest folks you could ever want to meet. Sadly, a number of these cachers are now caching together in the great big sky (Ima Lost, Whitler, jamqui, one hand, and both of the CARELS). To future visitors to this cache,if you are unable to find the cache, please post a DNF so that I can verify that it is still there. Thanks! - Olf

Access to this cache will take you on very rural dirt roads. There are two routes that can be taken in order to arrive at the desired parking location (coordinates at top of this page). The shorter route will require 4 wheel drive with ample clearance. The longer route is more car friendly.

On April 17th, 2004, cachers came together to help the Pennsylvania DCNR clean a tract of land located in Potter County as a geocaching CITO (cahe in, trash out) event. Approximately 150 bags of trash were picked up during this one day event!

This cache is to commemorate the efforts put forth by this great group of cachers. Please help us complete the clean-up effort by picking up a bag of trash while visiting this area. The actual location of the cache is:

N41°38.180 W077°48.623

Have fun!

Please help out by picking up a bag of trash while visiting this cache - Thanks!

OK fellow cachers, please let me have your attention for a second regarding trading "FAIRLY" . . .
It seems that over the recent years, cachers no longer feel the need to trade fairly, &/or think that it is ok to leave "trash" in the cache. Every year I restock each of my caches with new items for children, so that there will be something nice waiting for them. It has been very frustrating seeing the integrity of the sport decline to where each time I visit a cache, there are always items of little or no quality. If you can't leave an item of equal or greater value than the one you are taking, please don't take anything at all. Please help raise the bar for trade items in caches. If you see junk in the cache, please help out by removing it. Thanks for any help you can give! Cache on!
